Actualizar grub

Buenas
Vuelvo a explicarlo un pelin mejor :-D
El tema que es tengo Ubuntu y Debian. Quiero que el grub me detecte el nuevo
SO Debian en la Ubuntu, pero no se como hacerlo. Actualice el menu.lst pero
ni caso, me dice "bad file"
En todo caso el error es indiferente porque lo hice a mano, la cuestion es
como actualizar grub para que detecte las nuevas particiones.
