Problemas de resolucion.

Tengo problemas de resolución con Xubuntu 9.04, Jaunty Jackalope

El problema es la resolución que utiliza es excesiva: 1600x1200.
Es sencillo el cambiar a través del los menus a la optima 1280x800.

El problema es que no conserva la nueva resolución entre sesiones.
Tengo que cambiar la resolución en cada ocasión.

¿Como se puede hacer el cambio permanente?

El archivo /etc/x11/xorg.conf es este:
