Hola Ana.
Podrías intentar hacer algunas cosas, como por ejemplo lo que se te
sugirió respecto a verificar el espacio en el disco duro, también
podrías tratar de cambiar momentáneamente el servidor de paquetes que
tengas configurado (origen de software) a otro. Esto lo puedes hacer
mediante Synaptic, por ejemplo, cambiando al «Servidor principal» y
posteriormente volver a intentar la actualización.

También podrías probar los siguientes comandos..

$ sudo apt-get autoremove #Remueve todos los paquetes no usados.
$ sudo apt-get -f install #Intentará reparar dependencias rotas.
$ sudo dpkg --configure -a #Reconfigura paquetes mal instalados.
