NTUA ταχύτητες - έλεγχος

Καλημέρα,
Θα ήθελα να κάνουμε μια έρευνα για το θέμα της ταχύτητας στην αναβάθμιση
του Ubuntu από
http://gr.archive.ubuntu.com/  (NTUA) 
και
http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/  (Canonical, εξωτερικό).

Μερικοί χρήστες στη λίστα ubuntu-gr αναφέρθηκαν σε κάποια προβλήματα
ταχύτητας, οπότε είναι καλό να εντοπιστεί η πηγή του προβλήματος.

Καλό είναι να μην χρησιμοποιείτε το διαδίκτυο σε άλλες λήψης δεδομένων
κατά τον έλεγχο.

Μπορείτε να δοκιμάσετε και να στείλετε τα παρακάτω στοιχεία
Α. Λήψη μεγάλου αρχείου (16MB)
time wget --spider \

Είχα την εντύπωση ότι το http://ftp.ntua.gr/ διέθετε όλα τα αρχεία μέσω FTP ενώ φαίνεται ότι τα διαθέτει μέσω HTTP (μικρότερο latency).
