Hplip και έκδοση Python στο Ubuntu 20.04

Αγαπητοί φίλοι,
Μετά την αναβάθμιση του συστήματος μου από Ubuntu 18.04 σε Ubuntu 20.04 είχα προβλήματα δυσλειτουργίας με το Hplip που είχα ήδη εγκατεστημένο. Έβγαινε ένα μήνυμα ότι (αν θυμάμαι καλά) ότι δεν ήταν συμβατό με το system tray. Είχα προχωρήσει σε απεγκατάσταση του και προσπαθούσα να λειτουργήσω τους εκυπωτές μου (HP Officejet Pro 8100 και HP Laserjet P1005) με το foo2zjs. Ο Laserjet δούλεψε μια-δυο φορές και μετά δεν ξαναδούλεψε. Ο HP Officejet Pro 8100 άλλοτε δουλεύει και άλλοτε όχι.
Αποφάσισα να εγκαταστήσω ξανά το Hplip. Σε κάθε προσπάθεια εγκατάστασης έχει πρόβλημα με τις εξαρτήσεις (dependancies). 

Ψάχνοντας στο διαδίκτυο ανακάλυψα (αν το κατάλαβα σωστά) ότι το πρόβλημα βρίσκεται στην έκδοση Python. Μάλιστα βρήκα κάποιες λύσεις, που δεν μπόρεσα να τις καταλάβω καλά, όπου προτείνουν να αλλάξω τη χρησιμοποιούμενη έκδοση Python από το Ubuntu. 

Επειδή απ' ότι καταλαβαίνω πολλές εφαρμογές στηρίζονται στο Python για να τρέξουν, φοβάμαι να «σκαλίσω» κάτι στον υπολογιστή μου.
Παραθέτω πιο κάτω το αποτέλεσμα μιας εντολής που λέει ποια έκδοση Python χρησιμοποιεί κάθε φορά ο υπολογιστής μου (μπορεί να μην το λέει αυτό και απλώς να το φαντάζομαι).

Η ερώτηση που έχω είναι. Για να εγκαταστήσω το HPlip και να μην έχει πρόβλημα με τις εξαρτήσεις χρειάζεται να δώσω κάποιες εντολές έτσι που να αλλάξει το τρόπος διαχείρησης του Python?
Πιο κάτω βάζω και το αποτέλεσμα της προσπάθειας εγκατάστασης του HPlip.

Δεκτή κάθε άλλη εισήγηση, πχ εγκατάσταση παλαιότερης έκδοσης HPlip (ποια ακριβώς και που τη βρίσκω) ή τρόπο λειτουργίας των εκτυπωτών με άλλο πρόγραμμα.
