Hi Vidya,
The number of moderators on a list does not matter. What matters is, of the
members, how many of them actually get what they ask for. Dont get me wrong,
am a member of Ubuntu-Women, linuxchix, indianLc apart from a few others,
which
are doing great in their own way of reaching out to the female users.
<snip>
Also I am deeply disappointed to read your comments about
UbuntuWomen[2]. This is precisely what pushes women away from
technical projects and I hope that does not happen here.
</snip>
I have been hanging around IRC for the past couple of months now, and I have
_never_ been pushed away from the technical side of things. Moreover, I am
in
the process of being assigned a few of the technical jobs of one of the
indic-related packages. Gora Mohanty, Baishampayan Ghose, Soumyadip Modak
and a
few others were the one who encouraged me to take up the job, even when I am
considerably new to Ubuntu. And never ever was I made to feel I am the one
with
the least to do with anything technical.
Perhaps we should have talked it out on IRC first, but having waited for you
for
quite some time now to appear on IRC, I put down my request to be made a
moderator of the list, in case if you are still looking out for one.
Greetings,
Barkha.
P.S. I hang out on #linuxchix, #ubuntu-women, #ubuntu-in on IRC as baks17,
in
case you want to catch me in there.
