[ubuntu-in] How to print grid lines on a image / graphics

Hi

does anyone have an idea how to print grid lines on an image file. Most 
of the graphics programme show a grid view but none seem to have an 
option to print the grid lines.

PS am not googling because my net connection is about 16 kbps - just
