I have not used `bchunk`. I just googled for your query and found `bchunk`.
So please google for further issues. :-)

As Udhay Shankar N rightly suggested... use VLC Player for VCD.
If you are a KDE user then you can use Kaffeine for VCD.
Mplayer also works fine.
