[ubuntu-in] Searching for some photoslide show software

Hi

am searching for some open source / Linux software that can take a bunch
of pics and do an automated slideshow. But it should be able to :
a. Play music along with the slideshow
b. play around with the pictures with random effects - zoom in & out,
merge in out, float around etc.

I know that Picasa does the first but am searching for some open source
variety. Mac osx also have some such tool also

gthumb works well but does not have the above two features

would appreciate any suggestions
