The BSNL -FWT phone that does work is the Huawei ETS 2288. As far as i
know the Airtone 800-1x-III , sadly, *does not work*. However,
depending on where you are the BSNL will change the phone instrument
to a model that works.

Please check the link that Mir has posted.

Importantly , you will need the correct serial to usb cable as well as
a working internet connection - which is different from a dial up
connection- Again this is to be done by the BSNL folks.

I will post my wvdial.conf file as soon as i relog onto linux.
