You can use it with the server version as well. All you need to do is install the server version [non-gui] , change the kernel , remove the old kernel , add / remove other apps and run remastersys. It has nothing to do with Gnome. Although if you install gnome , gnome apps and settings would be included in the remastered distro.


Alternatively , you can tell me what apps you want on your Custom CD , Ill build one for you and upload it to a server / mail it to you.
