[ubuntu-in] Query regarding USB access in VirtualBox Guest system

Hi

Recently setup Virtualbox under 9.04, the closed source edition which
has USB support.

I then installed PCLInuxOS 2009 as the guest system because this OS
manages to run my Huawei ETS 2288 to connect to the net (which Ubuntu
9.04 does not)

After setting up PCLinux i tried to get the device to start working
and am getting an error, the error is similar to the error i get on
Ubuntu 9.04

which is
/dev/ttyUSB0 not found, no such device

So am wondering if the Guest OS (in this case PCLinuxOS) if using the
Host OS' meaning Ubuntu 9.04 interaction with the USB device ??
meaning that PClinux OS does not have control over how it interacts
with USB and rather Ubuntu controls the interaction.

would appreciate thoughts

thanks

ram
