I am going to summarize the procedure step-wise (please confirm):
Alternate 1:
Step One: Install Ubuntu 8.10 on the computer (or use the existing
installation)
Step Two: Download the Ubuntu Education CD 8.10 (the add-on cd) available
from the mirros listed on http://www.edubuntu.com/download#addoncd
Step Three: Burn the downloaded iso image on a blank cd
Step Four: Install the Edubuntu 8.10 Desktop from this newly created cd
Step Five: Install remastersys (instructions at
http://www.remastersys.klikit-linux.com/ubuntu.html)
Step Six: Run remastersys and create the LiveCD or LiveDVD of the Edubuntu
8.10 and
Step Seven: Enjoy :-)
Alternate 2:
Step One: Install Ubuntu 8.10 on the computer (or use the existing
installation)
Step Two: Run Synaptic Package Manager ---> Install edubuntu-desktop
Step Three: Follow Steps 5, 6 & 7 of Alternate 1 above
