okay in gstreamer-properties there is a video output and input options -
in the previous mail i wrote about only the video output options
in the input options
there is
Video for Linux 2 (v4l2)
Video for Linux (v4l)
Test
Custom
I have a webcam connected and the output is pretty horrendous
a green jerky screen with the botton 4th of the screen showing a solid
green zone - this output occurs only in V4l2
in the v4l and custom i get the error message
"Video for Linux (v4l): Could not get/set settings from/on resource."
In test output output i get a pretty normal output screen
So it seems there are two problems - not good video playback in some
programmes (like VLC ) and not good video input
so again an suggestions
thanks
ram
