Thanks to Ramdoss & Mr. K. Ramnarayanan ( Sir, I have also been meeting Mr.
srinivasan & Mr. verole - took eduboss too).

simple post installation & configuration things - are enough.

today i was trying to help mr. samuel thurian today - who had asked in this
forum had asked for installation CD. I took 9.04 & 9.10 to his home, but
could not install in both of his computers.

reason : 1st PC : BIOS setup - no way to boot from CD ( I do know only this
method). So went to the 2nd PC.
2nd PC : did run the live CD, but since the I could not
increase the resolution (from 600+ x 420) though I could do start the swap
partitioning, I could not complete it, since the form (or the window) was
bigger than the desktop size, I could not see the buttons to click them,
they were not visible at all. I tried 'Display' but the pulldown menu had
only the one resolution, and I do not know how to change it, and it was not
changing. I also tried to make the form smaller in size so that I could see
the buttons down there. But after trying for 15 minutes, I could not
complete this one.

I felt sad for not helping him. He is McNichols road, chetput, His name is
samuel thurian, i shall 9444755814.

These are really small things, which might make or break the user
confidence. He might always think that windows will get installed easily,
but ubuntu / linux wont, or , he might think, it is difficult to install, so
maybe difficult to use too.

i (we - who are new to linux) would want only these stuff to know - to help
newbies. not for fame, not for anything else, but this is the only way to
acknowledge & appreciate the efforts behind opensource softwares. most of
the newbies to linux, would be definitely employed somewhere (leaving the
students & software professionals) and would want to use linux / others just
because of passion, and would get more satisfaction in taking a good cause.

if i am wrong please correct me.

thanks for such a good OS.
