[ubuntu-in] How to setup ZTE AC8700 EVDO on Ubuntu

Hi
thanks for the link.
Its a bit frustrating because the device looks the same and has the
same name but is a different model.
So far all the solutions available on the net are for an earlier evdo device.
My device is the ZTE AC8700 with the following vendor and product id
idVendor 0x19d2
idProduct 0xfffe
the device for which solution are available have the following details:
vendor=0×05c6 product=0×6000
so there is as usual one step missing and that is very very frustrating.
Just for once i would like to see Linux pixk up a device and let me
work with it without having to spend days running around to get it to
work.
