Start the display configuration tool from System -> Preferences ->
> Display and tell us what configurations do you see there.

Hi!
I have tried all these, the other monitor is coming as unknown monitor,
which I turned it on. On pressing Fn+F8(the command for dell), the
resolution of the laptop changes(mirror or otherwise) but no luck on
monitor. I tried booting in with monitor on and also detected monitor
after booting on. There must be something configuration wise I am
missing and Dell Service is of no use, they are blaming the OS.
regards
