Yep tried that with photorec and it did not work

meanwhile recoverjpeg has worked fine an i now have 25 GB work of
images to soft through - most are under kb which i will deleted, then
i will use fslint to delete all the duplicates and then i will narrow
down to the missing ones. A pain but hopefully will get my images back
:-)
