[ubuntu-in] Kannada transliteration in Ubuntu 11.0.4

Hi,

I just setup Ubuntu 11.0.4 on my new Toshiba Satellite C660 laptop. 
Everything installed like a breeze.

One thing that I couldn't do myself was to setup the system so that I 
could type Kannada Unicode text. I am used to typing in baraha 
transliteration software and this would be the best method for me.

I tried going through the help and wiki. Have installed SCIM Input 
Method Setup and Input Method Switcher packages. However, I am unable to 
figure out how to start using Kannada.

Would appreciate any help in this regard.
