hello sriranga
Namaste!
I am prasad, 57, from A.P. I too wanted to type in Telugu.
I found out that
1. on the left hand icons bar, click the top most ubuntu icon.
you will fine a blank line willing to take your input.
2. type settings on it and press enter
3. there will be an icon with toothed wheel and a spanner, named system
settings.
just click it to obtain more icons inside it
4. find the "keyboard" icon. just click it
5. on the lefthand bottom corner, you will find "layout settings"
click it.
you will find + - and up down arrow symbols.
press the plus symbol.
it asks for add language.
select Kannada from the list
add it, and follow what all it tells.
after some time, close the system and re-stat it.
you will find the keyboard icon on the top menu bar. (I too do not know
what these people call it, as i too am new to this os.
click the top nbar's keyboard. you will find english and kannada.
just press kannada, The kannada letters will appear.
see the layout of it from the same keyboard icon.
it shows what each key represents.
d key represents adding of HALLUs.
use the shift key to get the ovels from the left hand side of key board
with a day or two experience, you can type in kannada. that is how I
learned telugu.
మీకు తెతుగు తెలుసా? Use the same keyboard key to switch between
languages.
నాకు తెలిసినదీ యింతే సారూ
నమస్కారం.
