[ubuntu-in] Synaptic package Manager (Password)

I'm confused, just installes ubuntu 10.10 in USB . 
Everything works fine, except, I try to run Synaptic Package Manager 
from the GUI, it ask for password, I type the "admin user" password , and I get an invalid password responce.
please help
