HI James

Thanks

I have been using hplip - for all the HP devices , so far. They only issue
has been with a HP 1020 plus printer, which some one posted a solution to
here,
<http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=10910&start=20#p1049671>
am still to verify that this works, trouble being its an either or
situation - either Hp1020 plus or some other device.

So essentially what you are saying if HPLIP lists that printer / mfd as
supported recognizes that printer / mfd we are good to go.

Did not post the HPLIP link simply because not all their drivers are open
source, some are propitiatory Also was looking for personal user / actual
use references.

Maybe we should start collating devices that work well under Linux ,
specific to India.
