Hi

Seems this issue has some how crept back

Am unable to type in indic fonts in atypical uses like the search function,
text editor etc but it works in the terminal

earlier used to enable it by doing the following
sudo apt-get install ttf-indic-fonts ttf-indic-fonts-core

but i get the following error message

Package ttf-indic-fonts is not available, but is referred to by another
package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it:
  fonts-indic

Package ttf-indic-fonts-core is not available, but is referred to by
another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'ttf-indic-fonts' has no installation candidate
E: Package 'ttf-indic-fonts-core' has no installation candidate

***
my issue remains the same as the replacement package is already installed
(fonts-indic)

please advise

thanks
ram
