[ubuntu-it] errore compilazione

Ciao a tutti,
sto cercando di compilare un programma in c e mi da questo errore
in ./configure:

checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C
compiler cannot create executables

Ho installato, altre all'installazione standard, gcc 4.0 e g++ 4.0 oltre
a gcc.
Qualche idea?
Il software è meteo-0.9.16.
