ok, tried with the german locale, and the crash's still happening for me. All I can say is that if a use any locale (among the ones listed above) other than C the crash occurs. Also choosing a, on my system, non-supported locale causes fallback to C, and thus no crach :) Still think it's weird though that only a few folks seem to be seeing this.
