You have been subscribed to a public bug:

After installing Banshee through apt on the fresh daily build  of Feisty
of today, I expected to find Banshee in the Applications menu -> Sound &
Video. It does show there, but without the icon. Also, when playing, it
should give me the banshee icon, next to my clock, but it doesn't: the
default music icon shows.
