I would like to confirm this on an installed version of Tribe 5.

I looked on the F-Spot forum and I do not see any reference to this but there. I will ask around on IRC later today to see if distros other than Ubuntu are reporting this problem.

One thing that is interesting is that after F-Spot fails, and announces
it can't import the file, I usually cancel the import operation. If I
restart F-Spot I will find a thumbnail of the offending file in F-Spot.
Note: F-Spot doesn't import the file, and I can not open the photo, edit
it, etc. but it is in the database, there is a thumbnail and I can
attach tags to it.

I have attached PICT2196.jpg to this bug report. It opens in eog, gimp,
and F-Spot Image Viewer without any problems. I do not believe the photo
is the problem, but I did attach it.
