I could but this is actually a bug in mono-jit. Of course it can be worked around in ndesk-glib, but it would need fixing in all the mono apps/libs that pass structs by value in p/invoke...
Anyway, i'm going to open a bug on ndesk-glib and will attach a workaround there.
