There are two more things I did not mention in my previous post...sorry:

1. This is a fresh install of Hardy Heron, not an upgrade
2. I have tried disabling all plug-ins to see if one of them was causing the problem

I am at work right now, but later I'll try installing Tomboy on my
laptop since it is also running a clean install of 8.04. If it does work
on my laptop then I'll investigate more and post again.
