audio indicator works fine for me with 1.8.0 release, you should try to
install right extensions and enable it, and when you tried to close
Banshee is minimized correctly too. any way, I think you should fill a
new report for each item that you required (if is not implemented of
course).

Status in “banshee” package in Ubuntu: New

Bug description:
Binary package hint: banshee

Banshee ought to ship in Ubuntu with a standard configuration - see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoundMenu#Banshee

Important points:
- No panel icon (both Application Indicator and Notification Area Icon should be disabled by default)
- Sound menu integration enabled by default (well almost: the option should be off by default for a new user account, but should turn itself on automatically when you first play something or add items to the music library)
- Banshee should be altered to comply with the standard behavior: it should keep playing if closed while playing, it should exit if closed while not playing, and it should restore location and other state on relaunching.
