Could you try running:
sudo sysctl kernel.yama.ptrace_scope=0
banshee --debug
And then posting the output here? It looks like there's a separate bug in mono
that does not handle gdb attaching properly, so this is a workaround to get a
proper backtrace.
To be safe, you could set the value back to 1 after you have gotten the output:
sudo sysctl kernel.yama.ptrace_scope=1.

Every time I start banshee it closes two seconds or so after opening.
I have tried with and without plugins.
