Today I was actually amazed by not having this feature in such feature-rich music player.
It hurts my ear if I suddenly want to stop the song and start one from YouTube for example. Without the fadeout that is. Though I could make the fadeout with the volume changer.

  It would be great if Banshee would fade the audio to 0 when the
  program exits or when playback stops, and fade in when audio is played
  or resumed. Amarok and Rhythmbox have this feature.
