Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

Title:
note window is too narrow to show all toolbar icons

Status in “tomboy” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: tomboy

  Source package: tomboy
  Package version: 0.14.0-0ubuntu1
OS version: Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope

When I open or create a note, the note window is not wide enough to
display all toolbar icons so it uses the dropdown method to show the
remaining icons ("Delete" and another one). It becomes very annoying
when you have to modify 50+ notes one by one.

I use the default "Human" GNOME style with the default icon and font
settings, the display resolution is 1280x1024 (CRT monitor).

I found a workaround for Compiz users: with CompizConfig Settings
Manager I managed to set a rule for the Window Rules plugin to resize
the note window when it appears (selector: "(class=Tomboy) &
  type=Normal", width: 550, height: 400).

This is rather an annoyance than a "real" bug, and a perfect example
for the One Hundred Paper Cuts project. :)
