Title:
Writing an email to an address does not work

Status in gnome-do package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-do

When I choose one of my google contacts (not gmail), and choose to
write an email to an address, nothing happens.

  Output is this:
Error showing URL: Error stating file '/home/bjorn/xdg-email mail at mail.xx': No such file or directory

I'm on a fresh install of Maverick and tried it with the official package and the karmic ppa.
It looks like gnome-do is calling xdg-open (or gnome-open) to open xdg-email...

My system is well configure (Preferred Applications is set to
thunderbird) and 'xdg-email mail at mail.xx' and 'xdg-email
'mail at mail.xx'' work. 'xdg-open mailto:mail at mail.xx' works as well
  (from the command line).

So the solution would be to make gnome-do use xdg-email instead of xdg-open for email addresses, or simply put a mailto: in front of email addresses instead of xdg-email.
Is there any possible workaround for that (like telling xdg-open to replace xdg-email with mailto:)?
