missing avidemux package

Hello,

Is there a reason for avidemux video editor not being in the official
Ubuntu packages repository?
I noticed it has never been added in Debian but it was previously available
in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (https://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty/avidemux).
It would be nice to have this package in the official repository.
