This happens for me, as well.  It's very annoying.  If I could just
disable the auto completion I'd be perfectly happy.

I always end up doing something like this...

(dialog opens)
I type: /usr/bin/ktorrent
I end up with something like /usr/bin/in/ktorrent.

Personally I'd rather just type my filename than have to wait and look
for an autocompletion option.
