Alexander, upstream knows how this should be fixed (asking users if they
really want to lose entered data when leaving a page with a form--which
would solve similar problems not related to the backspace key), but
apparently nobody is interested in fixing this...

In the mean time, we should IMHO make things work in a way that's least
surprising for people used to other browsers or used to Firefox on other
platforms.
