this is now work in progress.
** Summary changed:
- firefox32 for amd64
+ firefox32 for amd64 => support 32-bit plugins on amd64
** Description changed:
- It is a known fact that amd64's firefox cannot run 32bits plugins, being
- the most notable ones macromedia flash and java.
- Ubuntu-amd64 already ships ia32-libs, ia32-libs-gtk and ia32-libs-kde
- (for running 32-bit openoffice), so most of work is already done.
+ firefox sould support 32-bit plugins on amd64
- A firefox32 package for ubuntu amd64 is desireable for the following
- reasons:
+ this bug will be dealt with by spec
- - several banks require java plugin (and sometimes flash) for accessing their netbanking sites
- - viewing ads :-)
- - if you upgrade firefox, it tens to return to 64bit version
-
- the same way, packages for java and flash as 32bit firefox's plugins
- would be greatly useful.
