[Bug 122648] majority of bookmarks have dissappeared

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

Following a restart (regular) of firefox, all bookmarks previously
defined in the bookmarks tool bar have dissapeared.

Following from that, when viewing trying to view them in the bookmarks
organiser,  virtually all bookmarks are no longer there.

The bookmarks.xml file contains just the remaining bookmarks, whereas
the bookmarks backup folder contains previous backups of the actual
bookmarks.

Strange that on a simple restart the bookmarks would go and purge
themselves like that.
