ok right now there is some debate on whos issue this is, but that is
"our" concern ATM, I will be looking into this and we are going to see
what can be done. The reason you are getting this warning is due to the
way g_thread_init() is being called against new glibc. Glibc used to
hide this warning in the past version of ubuntu. I will get together
with Alexander and see what choices we have at this time.

Shawn, all GTK apps are gonna have this warning as they all depend on
Glibc. The crash you are getting may or may not be due to glibc, I have
ran a few tests on VLC as it was crashing for me and came up more
confused than ever. i worked too hard on it. Please file bug on gimp and
see what they say about the crash.

As long as the app doesnt crash please ignore it for the time being and
someone will update this bug with more info as we receive it.
