Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

Problem: Firefox crashes. Apport try to generate a report, but the
progress bar is bouncing left and right without any progress at all
after more than 5 minutes. So I report the problem manually.

Environment: Ubuntu Feisty Fawn (with latest updates as of 26th of March
08h UTC)

Is reproducible: not easily but happens once a day about (about 5hours
par day of usage)

Sequence of events: Browsing and opening many tabs (about 5-10). Firefox
crashes upon switching to or from another application, either via
Alt+Tab or by selecting another application in the task panel. But
mostly it happens when switching from an application back to Firefox. In
the later case, the top window border of Firefox (with the title) is
displayed, but not the rest of the window, then after a few seconds, the
CPU reports an activity of 100%, after 10-15seconds Firefox crashes and
the CPU goes back to 0-5%. Apport is triggered but it cannot seem to be
able to gather logs... The bug is not easily reproducible, but happens
once a day at least.

Technical environment: Centrino 1.6Ghz (so no multi-core and no multi-
threading and 32bit only), 1GB RAM. Pretty standard Feisty installation
with just a few package added like gstreamer plug-ins.

** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
