[Bug 152300] thunderbird crashes when selecting a message

Some background first: I tried to do a distribution upgrade to Gutsy RC
1 and my machine froze. When I rebooted it reported that the primary
partition (dev1) was corrupted. So I did a fresh reinstall from the CD,
changed /etc/fstab to point /home to my second disc (sda1) and rebooted.
I can see my home directory and everything looks good.

Next, I added thunderbird using synaptic and it used my existing profile
to check several accounts (POP and IMAP). However, if I select a message
in any account, thunderbird starts to render the message pane, then
closes. I do not get any message windows. I will provide more
information if you can tell me where this activity is logged.
