I have the same behaviour. Most noticable on this site: http://www.huffingtonpost.com. I think it;s related to JavaScript/Ajax and may occur because of some combination with plugins.
I run Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008040514 Firefox/3.0b5 with Add-ons: Dom inspector, Easygestures, FireBug, Foxmarks, Greasemonkey, Internote, MeasureIt, MR TechToolkit, Screen Grab!, ScribeFire, SmartBookmarksBar, WebDeveloper. This may well be an incompatibility  (older!) Add-on issue with my setup.
