[Bug 183044] Re: SSL Broken after upgrade to Hardy from Gutys in Firefox and Thunderbird

I just upgraded to Hardy (as of 2008-04-21 HKT) from Gutsy and got
exactly the same problem. Reinstalling package firefox-3/thunderbird
doesn't help. The error message was:

"Could not initialize the browser's security component. The most likely
cause is problems with files in your browser's profile directory. Please
check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard
disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the
browser and fix the problem. If you continue to use this session, you
might see incorrect browser behaviour when accessing security features."

I tried with a newly created user with nothing in the home directory and
the problem's still there. I then installed firefox-2 and got exactly
the same error message when I tried to start firefox-2. Here's the
version information of the related packages:
