Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

The default homepage set for Firefox 3 on Hardy Haron uses javascript to
set the focus on the google dialog search. This may interrupt the user
if they are in the middle of typing in the location bar.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Make sure you have the default home page set:
"chrome://ubufox/content/startpage.html", which redirects you to "http://start.ubuntu.com/8.04/"
2. Open a new Firefox window (ctrl-n)
3. Set focus on the location bar (ctrl-l)
4. Start typing

If you are a reasonably quick typer, or have a fairly slow internet
connection, you will get to step 3 before the default homepage has
loaded. Once the page load completes, the javascript on the page will
move the keyboard focus from the location bar to the Google search box,
interrupting your typing.

Automatically changing focus is annoying at all times, but it is
particularly troublesome in the start page, since it will be loaded for
every new window, and on most occasion, a user will already have a
particular location in mind to go to when they open it, which means they
will want to type on the location bar without interruption from the
page.

** Affects: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
