I concur: I've had 5 days without this crash when I was having at least
one a day.

For those considering the change: the beta is not perfect - on my
computer it frequently renders the deepest black as white, and the
brightest white as black. An overflow error I presume. Nevertheless,
slightly broken colour is a lot better than random crashes.
