I'll add my support behind reverting to the 'don't switch to offline
mode automatically' method -- very few people want the browser to
operate in offline mode, it's potentially a problem for those who think
it's online-mode while it's not, and it's very annoying for those who
never use it and find themselves with a non-working browser and no idea
why.
