I'm not sure this is a Google Toolbar issue (as mentioned by Adrian);
but it happens frequently on my "Firefox 2.0.0.12 running on Ubuntu Gutsy".

After my close inspection for some time, I found that whenever I visited
websites that pop a new window and tries to change the URL for the same
instance of that "pop out" again later ... will lead Firefox to hang all
it's windows & turned grey forever.

I'm able to duplicate this problem almost 100% with above mentioned
scenario.

Hope this help for the Mozilla Firefox team to troubleshoot this bug.
