Did an upgrade one night and all of a sudden Firefox stopped pegging the
CPU.

chris at chris-desktop:~/j3d-1_5_2-linux-i586/lib/i386$ uname -a
Linux chris-desktop 2.6.24-19-generic #1 SMP Wed Aug 20 22:56:21 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux

Firefox 3.0.3.

Wish I could explain what changed but apparently something was modified
and this behavior ended immediately post auto-update.
