[Bug 286204] [NEW] flashplugin-nonfree fails to install on amd64

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: flashplugin-nonfree

1) Release: 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex)
2) Version: 10.0.12.36ubuntu1
3) Expected behavior was installation of Flash.
4) The package fails to install on my amd64 system. This system has been upgraded from feisty -> gusty -> hardy -> intrepid. I tried running the following commands to purge the old flash plugin and nspluginwrapper:

sudo apt-get -y purge nspluginwrapper
sudo apt-get -y purge mozilla-plugin-gnash
sudo apt-get -y purge swfdec-mozilla
sudo apt-get -y purge flashplugin-nonfree
sudo rm -rfd /usr/lib/nspluginwrapper
sudo rm -f /usr/lib/firefox-addons/plugins/libflashplayer.so
sudo rm -f /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/flashplugin-alternative.so

That didn't work. It seems to be either missing or not finding
libnss3.so: version `NSS_3.11' not found

Here's the output of the install process:
